What programs do I use to mod Wolf3D?

Almost immediately following the release of the shareware version of Wolfenstein 3D in 1992, fans managed to create programs that can open up the game files and modify many different aspects of the game.

In the years after, the community has refined it's Editors, providing a variety of different approaches to creating games.

There are many other quality editors out there in various stages of development, including HWE. In future, this FAQ will include guides for them, too. In the meantime, you can see a list of other editors on the main Wolf3D.net website.

Table being worked on, hold up man don't hassle me dude whatever hombre chillax friend.

There are two factors to heavily consider. Each Editor not only has it own set of features and level of editing ability, but are also capable of editing different games built on the Wolf3D engine, to varying degrees.
